Bandar Abbas to screen 15 Fajr festival movies

Southern Iranian city of Bandar Abbas is slated to screen 15 selected movies of the Fajr Film Festival.

The city will host the 37th edition of the Fajr Film Festival, screening a lineup of movies.

The list of selected movies is not revealed yet, but two theater halls have been announced to host the event.

City Star and Star of South cinemas will host the screening of the 15 movies.

The 37th edition of Fajr Film Festival is set to kick off on January 30, and will run until February 11 in the capital Tehran.

The festival coincides with the Ten-Day Fajr (Dawn) ceremonies across Iran, marking the 40th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Since its establishment in 1982, the Fajr Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran every year.
